Kostas Tsimikas has been included in Liverpool’s 31-man squad for their pre-season tour of the United States this summer.
The Reds are preparing for their first campaign under new head coach Andoni Iraola, who took charge in June following the dismissal of Arne Slot.
Liverpool have travelled to the United States for a series of pre-season fixtures and will be based in Chicago throughout the tour.
Among the players set to feature is Tsimikas, who has not made an appearance for Liverpool since May 2025.
The Greek international spent the 2025-26 season on loan at Serie A side AS Roma, where he made 25 appearances across all competitions.
However, Tsimikas started only six league matches and accumulated 1,050 minutes during his time in Italy.
Reports in May indicated that the 30-year-old hopes to remain at Liverpool and compete for a place in the first team.
The left-back could see increased opportunities following Andy Robertson’s departure to Tottenham Hotspur after his contract at Anfield expired this summer.
Nevertheless, Milos Kerkez is expected to be Liverpool’s first-choice left-back after impressing under Iraola during their time together at Bournemouth.
Tsimikas, who joined Liverpool from Olympiakos for a reported fee of £11.8 million in 2020, has less than a year remaining on his current contract.
He has made 115 appearances for Liverpool in all competitions and has won the Premier League, FA Cup and two Carabao Cups during his spell at the club.
Liverpool’s squad for the pre-season tour includes goalkeepers Giorgi Mamardashvili, Freddie Woodman, Vitezslav Jaros, Harvey Davies and Bailey Hall.
Defenders named in the squad are Joe Gomez, Jeremy Jacquet, Milos Kerkez, Conor Bradley, Giovanni Leoni, Kostas Tsimikas, Jeremie Frimpong, Luke Chambers, Calvin Ramsay, Calum Scanlon and Ifeanyi Ndukwe.
Midfielders travelling are Wataru Endo, Dominik Szoboszlai, Curtis Jones, Josh Abe, Trey Nyoni, Stefan Bajcetic and Kieran Morrison.
Liverpool’s attacking options include Federico Chiesa, Harvey Elliott, Hugo Ekitike, Lewis Koumas, Rio Ngumoha, Will Wright and Josh Sonni-Lambie.
Liverpool will begin their pre-season schedule against Sunderland at Geodis Park in Nashville on Saturday before facing Wrexham at Yankee Stadium in New York on July 30.
Their final fixture in the United States will be against Leeds United at Soldier Field in Chicago on August 2.
The Merseyside club will then return to Anfield for friendlies against AS Monaco and Como before opening their 2026-27 Premier League season away to Newcastle United on August 23.
