Liverpool are preparing an opening bid for Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola as the Premier League club looks to strengthen its attack following the departure of Mohamed Salah.
According to a BBC Sport report, the France international has emerged as Liverpool’s preferred replacement for Salah, who left Anfield at the end of last season.
PSG are reported to value the 23-year-old at about £145 million, which would make him the most expensive signing in British football. However, Liverpool are hoping to negotiate a deal closer to £100 million.
Barcola, who has two years remaining on his contract with the French champions, is reportedly open to joining Liverpool after seeing his role reduced at PSG.
Liverpool turned their attention to the French winger after RB Leipzig’s Yan Diomande, another attacking target, moved closer to a transfer to Real Madrid.
Barcola has impressed since joining PSG with his pace, dribbling ability and versatility across the forward line, making him one of Europe’s highly rated young attackers.
Liverpool are expected to submit an opening offer in the coming days as they continue plans to reshape their squad ahead of the new season.
